Average Management aka "sandbagging" is cheating.  Unfortunately we have some bowlers in our Association who sandbag to gain an unfair advantage.  It is sad to think that a bowler would stoop to such extremes as to hold their average down so that they can enter a handicapped tournament with a lower average than they are capable of.  Lower average more handicap.  Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to catch those who are sandbagging.  If they enter our tournaments, they will learn that we do keep track of tournament scores and have flagged some bowlers so that if they enter our tournaments they will be advised that we will adjust their average accordingly. This is being done to protect the integrity of our tournaments as well as make it fair for everyone.  We also share our information with other Tournament Directors and vice versa.

Our thanks to all the bowlers who participating in our BVL Tournament this weekend.  We were honored to have the Honor Guard from Travis Air Force Base attend and present our flags followed by Sanae Tanaka who sang God Bless America and the National Anthem with our own veterans.  One word sums it up...WOW...

We are proud to announce that Joanie Feinblum, past California Women's Bowling Association President; past Women's International Bowling Congress Vice President, will be inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame in 2012.  Joanie has been a friend to the San Francisco USBC (formerly SFWBA/SFBA)  for over 50 years.  No one deserves this honor more than Joanie.

Did you know that without the support of our Bowling Proprietors and their Management we could not bring you our tournaments.  The San Francisco USBC is extremely proud of the relationship it has with all our Proprietors and the Management at each Bowling Establishment.  The next time you are in your bowling center, take the time to thank the Manager and if you see the Proprietor thank them as well.  They have been terrific and have supported our Association for many years.

Help us increase tournament participation.  The word "tournament" scares some people but help us get the word out that you don't have to be a good bowler you just have to want to have fun.  All our tournaments are handicapped so its fair for everyone.  So the next time you want to bowl a tournament ask all your friends to join in. The more participants the more money in the Prize Fund.  Thank you.

OUR FIRST BLOG 07/17/2011
 
On July 16, 2011 the San Francisco USBC installed their Officers and Directors for the 2011/2012 Bowling Season.  You can view a list of the Board of Directors on the home page of our website. In addition to the Installation we inducted two (2) new members to our Hall of Fame.  Mike Leong and Jodi Hiraoka were inducted in the Superior Performance Category.
